There are 8 versions of Vista and it is essential to ensure you obtain the version you require. Changing later by buying an upgrade version is expensive.Vista is evolutionary. It has improved search facilities, handles photos, music and movies better and has an attractive new interface called Aero which uses 3D graphics to create a translucent glass effect that appears to float above the background screen. It has also been designed to be more secure and hopefully more stable.

Vista Home Basic DOES NOT have the new Aero interface. This only comes with Vista Home Premium, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate.
